About ISO / TS 29001

ISO/TS 29001 is the technical specification for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. It was developed as a direct result of a partnership between the International Standards Organisation (ISO) and the international oil and gas industry.

ISO/TS 29001 defines the Quality Management System (QMS) for product and service supply organisations for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. TS 29001 contains ISO 9001 text unaltered and in its entirety. The petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industry sector-specific supplemental requirements are identified alongside.

These requirements have been developed independently to ensure that they are clear and auditable. They also provide global consistency and improved assurance in the supply quality of goods and services from providers (such as processes and controls for procurement, design, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance).
