COURSE CONTENT
A one day course giving an overview of an EMS and the requirements for implementation containing the following:
- Explanation of what the environment is and the basic constituents of an EMS
- How an EMS can help
- Overview of content of ISO 14001 and the benefits
- The registration process
- Sources of help
- Where to start to implement an EMS, getting commitment
- Identifying and evaluating significance of environmental aspects
- Setting objectives and targets
- Identifying legislation, including the more common legislation
- Monitoring and measuring performance both for environmental improvement and maintenance of standards
- Communication and training
- Setting and reviewing an environmental policy
- Emergency procedures
