OBJECTIVES
The course provides an understanding of the principles and procedures involved in carrying out general risk assessments, as required under the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999COURSE CONTENT
Delegates will learn to:
- Contribute to the risk assessment programmes at their workplace
- Conduct risk assessments (assuming they have the necessary technical knowledge in relation to the activities being assessed)
- Assist employers in meeting legal requirements and promote improved standards of health and safety within their organisation
- Organise and implement a risk assessment programme where this has not already been started
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The course is aimed at all employees who have a responsibility to conduct risk ssessments. It is particularly suitable for managers and supervisors, but it will be equally beneficial to individual workers or to any personnel contributing to the risk assessment process.
COURSE DURATION AND STRUCTURE
This course is 1 day and is a mix of formal lectures and practical exercises.
Following the 1-Day course, delegates have 6 weeks to undertake and report a Risk Assessment Project. The report is then assessed.
