OVERALL AIM

  • To deliver ACS assessors who are fluent in the ACS standard and skilled in its application in assessment situation
SELF-STUDY OBJECTIVES
  • To engage trainee assessors with core knowledge of the ACS standard and the ACS assessment process
  • To get an early view of current understanding and ability
  • To identify assessor questions about any potential difficulties they perceive
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
  • To deliver practical learning through applying assessment tools to case studies
  • To build and consolidate core knowledge of the ACS standard and assessment process
  • To develop confidence in applying the SIA standard
  • To develop the key skills needed in performing ACS assessments
EVALUATION PROCESS OBJECTIVES
  • To provide appropriate and timely trainee assessor capability information to the Assessor Training Staff during the training process
  • To monitor the quality of the overall Assessor Development Programme
  • To monitor the quality of individual workshop sessions
  • To gather feedback on what is working well and what needs to be improved.
TRAIN THE TRAINER OBJECTIVES
  • To provide a package containing the training programme, learning materials, process instructions, evaluation criteria and mechanisms for
    Lead Assessors/Trainers to run the SIA Assessor Programme
  • To Coach delegates through programme materials and facilitation

  • Presentations of key facts/concepts
  • Case study exercises using SAW/Scoring tool
  • Skills development in visit planning and reporting
  • Case-study Simulation of interviews
  • Identification of additional learning needs

WORKSHOP- BASED ASSESSMENTS

  • Self Assessment
  • Tutor Assessment and Feedback
  • Peer Assessment and Feedback
  • Case study simulation using real data
  • Company representatives interviewed
  • Three phase process, planning, execution, report
  • Each delegate involved in 3 phases
  • Each delegate leads one phase as Lead Assessor
  • Others support/assist as agreed

COURSE DURATION AND STRUCTURE

This course is duration is 3 days.

There is a mix of lectures, exercises and case study and each delegate will be provided with a set of notes to accompany the course.
